노란 세계(The Yellow World)

‘이곳’이 전부라고 믿는 사람들이 있다. 그들은 ‘이곳’ 밖에는 어떤 색도 없고, 모든 것이 ‘이곳’에만 존재한다고 생각한다. 그래서 결코 밖으로 나가지 않고, ‘이곳’에 맞춰 만든 규칙만을 따르며 살아간다. 그러나 그들이 ‘세상’이라고 부르는 ‘이곳’은 거대한 전체 속의 아주 작은 조각에 불과하다. 사실 그 규칙이라는 것도 실체는 없으며, 그저 그들이 머물기로 선택한 그 작은 공간 ‘이곳’ 안에서 만들어낸 믿음일 뿐이다.

There are people who believe that “this place” is all there is. They think there is no color beyond “this place,” and that everything exists only within it. So they never step outside, living by the rules created to fit “this place.” But what they call “the world,” this very “place,” is merely a tiny fragment of a much greater whole. In truth, those so-called rules have no real substance; they are simply beliefs shaped within the small space they have chosen to remain in—“this place.
